These exotic woods are so unique that we just have to share!

We began our shop for love of the beauty and character of wood; even everyday poplar or redwood was stunning just looking at the knots, rings and lines that were created over time. Unfortunately my wife Diane passed away very unexpectedly and I’m now trying to continue our endeavor.

So I first began making outdoor benches and small tables out of redwood, progressing to bookcases, boxes, containers for everything including one for our dishwasher tablets with a beautiful inlay! I had a knack and passion for utilizing my skills creating fun handicrafts. I would ask my wife for new projects to work on for our home. She would tease me by saying one day she would come home and our house would be covered in wood!! That needed to change!

So, after further research, we began focusing on rich varied colors, textures, natural swirls, knots and even bugs and fungus making odd and wonderful nuances in each of the exotic woods. And so, Natures Wood Designs was created! We liked to enhance a home's decor with a beautiful frame or stunning conversation centerpiece vase. It is difficult to part with some of our products! We carefully choose the lumber at mills based on color and variety.

The puppy/dog treat boxes and feeders were created out of love for our dog, Dakota, a German shepherd mix, who we lost after almost 15 years in 2017. Did he love his treats!!
